Full Review of the Kenwood Classic Chef

There are some design classics and this is one. Kenwood have cleverly used the K logo in the beaters and the patented planetary beating action so that all parts of the bowl are involved in the mixing is brilliant and yet to be beaten. The addition of a balloon whisk and liquidiser to the Kenwood Classic White Chef KM336 package along with the beater and dough hooks makes it a mixer for all occasions; but when you need more, there are many different appliances which you can buy later.

Born Again Cook

After years of rushing about and eating what I could throw together in 30 minutes (thats a good title for a recipe book!) I decided to take a good look at my familys diet and in order to do more home cooking bought myself a Kenwood Classic White Chef KM336. This wasnt a diet, so cakes etc were still very much on the menu; I just wanted to cook from scratch and some of my best memories were cooking with my aunt as a child, and she had a Kenwood Chef still has, in fact. So the Kenwood Classic White Chef KM336 seemed the sensible thing to buy.

Did it live up to the memories?

The Kenwood Classic White Chef KM336 has not let me down! Nostalgia has been improved upon with non-stick beaters and a liquidiser. I was a bit taken aback that I had to adjust the beaters (well, I say I someone had to adjust the beaters) before use. I would have thought that the Kenwood Classic White Chef KM336 would come ready adjusted, but it wasnt a major job and I expect it doesnt need doing constantly. The beaters, moving in that rather disconcertingly off centre way they have are still just as hypnotic to watch and they really speed up the mixing process. I have found that in practice I use the Kenwood Classic White Chef KM336 mostly for bread, but cakes are excellent and the liquidiser is brilliant for soups. Ive been dreaming of the pasta roller which fits the Kenwood Classic White Chef KM336 on one of the additional power outlets, but I think that might be taking this cooking lark a touch too far!

I would recommend the Kenwood Classic White Chef KM336 like a shot! It doesnt come with gadgets galore and all sorts of whistles and bells. It has enough accessories to make it an instant must-have on the counter top and you can add other things as you need them. The Kenwood Classic White Chef KM336 has the weight and thoughtful design features that everyone associates with Kenwood and at the price is not anywhere near the most expensive on the market. If you want a good, solid (if, I admit, slightly noisy my only complaint) mixer to take you back to the good old days of baking, you can hardly do better than the Kenwood Classic White Chef KM336.
