Full Review of the Kenwood Premier White Chef KMC510
With its long line of well-reputed and respected predecessors, the Kenwood Premier White Chef has a lot to live up to. A friend to any aspiring or established cook, the Kenwood KMC510 promises to lighten the load of food preparation. Lets see what its really made of!
So whats in the box?
For starters, the Kenwood Premier White Chef comes with what they consider to be the most necessary and versatile accessories, anything over and above this needs to be purchased separately.
So, upon purchase you will get a stainless K-Beater and a flexible rubbery K-Beater which is designed to reach the sides and to scrape the bottom of the bowl, leaving no risk of flour bubbles and unbeaten mixture at all. Great!
In addition to this, you will get a whisk (which pretty much does what it says on the tin); a rubber spatula and a dough hook. Finally, you will also get a 1.5 litre acrylic liquidiser which is pretty useful for homemade soups, smoothies and even for crushing ice. So far I have liquidised a leek and potato soup as well as a banana and strawberry smoothie and I really cant complain about its performance. It didnt roar too loudly nor did it show any signs of burning out which is always a plus in my books.
And the best part about all of the above accessories… they are all dishwasher safe! Brilliant!
Lastly, the Kenwood Premier White Chef comes with a decent page recipe book which is handy but to be honest, is more akin to promotional material than anything else. A few of the recipes are relevant, the rest you will need to buy the accessories for.
Does the Kenwood Premier White Chef perform?
The Kenwood Premier White Chef has a long established heritage and quite frankly a lot to live up to. I have really put this kitchen companion through its paces and all in all, I can only sing its praises. When mixing batter, the K-beater glides through requiring minimal intervention with much less noise than the older model. The splatter guard with the hinged lid is great for adding more ingredients and for reducing the mess.
Weighing in at 7.7kgs, the Kenwood KMC510 was very stable on the work surface when I was mixing which is great as you can direct your attention elsewhere. The height of the mixer is also easily adjustable so you can really tailor it to your needs.
But the proof is in the pudding when it comes to kneading bread dough so I put the dough hook to the test expecting to find a weakness. Again, the White Chef is just that, a chef! The 1000w motor kneaded the dough gently and with ease, making no more noise than necessary and showing no signs of struggle. Making pizzas and bread has never been easier!
It is also worth noting that the Kenwood Premier White Chef is much more compact than its older brothers and thus will take up less space in the kitchen.
Any drawbacks I should know of?
At most, I would say that the connection for the liquidiser is not as firm as it should be so it will require a bit of a fiddle to fix the liquidiser in place.
The other point that I must make is that the various accessories that do not come with the Kenwood Premier White Chef are very expensive, some even more so than the stand alone machines! Once you get going with your Kenwood Premier Chef, you really wont want to stop so be aware of the possible expenses that you may incur.

The Kenwood Premier White Chef is my new right hand man in the kitchen. It is durable, reliable and can deal with whatever I throw at it which earns top marks for me. This machine does it all and is a big help in the kitchen. Some people have said that they had trouble with the calibration, but mine has worked like a charm. I have used it to make a lot of cakes and this machine works perfectly. Best of all it is extremely easy to wash afterwards.
